Dedicated to Finding Value as well as Beauty!
The inspiration for this work was the Lerner and Lowe musical “My Fair Lady”. As any theatre aficionado will relate, this wonderful musical comedy was adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion”. Please note the way that Ms. Davis has captured the elegant transformation of the former flower girl Eliza Doolittle. Here we see her attired in a fashionable gown of pale green with pure white accents. Her hair is neatly coiffed and as she lifts her skirt we can glimpse the petticoats of an aristocratic lady. I suspect that this work is from Eliza’s coming out party, where Professor Higgins is delighted by her ability to not only fool but actually to captivate high British Society.
This work stands 7.25” high and she is 5” at her widest point. Her condition is excellent if not Mint with no chips, cracks, or hairlines. We can offer this wonderful work that combines the artistry of a great Doulton artists with the charm of an enchanting love tale for $325.00
