Each of this pair of flow blue soup plates measuring 8 1/2" in diameter. The blue is a deep cobalt blue. The scalloped edge is gilded and sponged around the rim. This is a rare pattern. The bottom is marked GTM Stoke ORCHID Rd. No. 970654. This is the George Thomas Mountford Staffordshire pottery 1888-98. There are the beautiful orchids as well as birds and butterflies. Both are crazed. The gilding is worn. The price if for the pair.
