Florence Ceramics, in Pasadena, California, operated from World War II to 1977, although production of it's figurine line ended in 1964 when new owners took over. This beautiful 7.5" semi-porcelain figurine is marked Melanie. She is the pink version with the white bonnet. Her bonnet, gloves, and bow around her neck are detailed in gold. She has rosy cheeks, red lips and brown eyes. Kovel's 2000 Price Guide lists her value at $140. She is in excellent condition. The artist's initials are in gold on the underside. I'm not sure what they are - possibly MI or HI, or Mj or Hj.
